This was taken in Yellowstone about an hour before the hard rain that caused the flooding started. I was exploring the park in the rain as a change-of-pace. (R5, 24-105 @ 76, 1/125 s, f/16, iso 800, tripod)
I like this scenic view. I first see the bison, then travel to the small pond and finally up to the top peak. It looks like a good ole gentle, rainy day that unfortunately turned into a disaster. I hope you got out before the heavy rains came! I was very sad to hear about all the damage this storm caused. How nice for you to record some history. A very nice photo, Mark.
The wide view here is nice to give a sense of scale and location. I like that you were out in what people would often see as less than ideal weather, capturing that side of life. What a dramatic time to be there. I hope you were away from the flooding when it happened.
Excellent composition with nice muted colors and distribution of the buffaloes. I like the mist in the background. Superb sense of scale.
