As usual, very good detail in the bird and the whites and blacks look good. Very interesting perch with the different lichen.

I agree that the lichens steal the show in this one, Sandy. Nice job, though it feels like the lichens got cut off at the bottom.

Dennis, yeah they did get cut off, but they grew most of the way to the bottom of the stump, so had to be cut off SOMEwhere.
I’ll look at options…

Fantastic lichens and you managed to find one of the few black and white birds in Costa Rica. The tanager is nicely lit and shows good detail in blacks and whites. The BG is excellent too. The lichens are worthy of some macro work so maybe in your next visit to that area, you can snag some lichen shots too…Jim

Hi Sandy, really nice bird, perch, and background. I didn’t know this species existed so this is a treat to see especially with it set off on the interesting perch (+lichens). Well done.
