Image Description

The image is of two battle-scarred brothers bonding following a dispute. The original color image was rather bland so I wanted to try an alternative. B&W improved it a bit but not enough for my liking. So, I decided to push it and try an ultra hi-key look.

I really like this rendering. It carries a lot of emotional weight and conveys the intimacy of the bond between the brothers very well. The rendering resembles an ink or pencil illustration on the small screen, which is also appealing.

I agree with @Matt_Lancaster on this image Garnet. This has a tremendous family bonding feel. I really like the high-key treatment that does render it almost as an antiqued engraving in B&W. Excellent, especially closeup like this.

Thank you @Matt_Lancaster and @Ed_Williams for your feedback. Ultra hi-key does not work on all images, but just seemed to fit with this one!

I love this! The emotional tie is clear in this intimate moment.
The high-key rendering is perfect!

Well my first reaction when seeing the thumbnail was that I had to click on it! I love this. I think it’s perfect for this high-key treatment. Definitely works for me. The only thing as far as critique is that maybe the hindquarters of the standing lion could be a bit distracting. Probably hard to reduce the white there and keep the pure high key look. Love the image.

Thanks @SandyR-B . Appreciate your feedback.

Thanks for your feedback @Paul_Holdorf . This was originally a landscape shot that I cropped to portrait to improve the angle of view and make it more intimate.
