This is my very first IR image! Personally I like Black and White a lot and am using IR to get there
Any general thoughts welcome

Hi Karl, I really like this composition. It would work well even if it weren’t an IR image. The 590nm conversion gives it a subtle IR look that one could almost mistake for straight B&W. I generally shoot with the 720nm filter which makes for much whiter foliage. I like this look so much though that I may have to invest in a 590nm filter. Well done image and post processing.
I used a IR converted 590 nm camera. I was told not to get the 850 or 093 filters as they are too dark.Instead I am planning on converting my Nikon D4s to Full Spectrum and getting a 720 nm filter
My main intention is better B/W - but who knows - this IR may draw a little more attention from me. I am mainly a wildlife guy that also enjoys astro-landscapes
