Description
Brahminy Kites are a medium-sized raptor that predominantly live along the coast line. However, we have seen them 2000 klms inland around the more permanent water courses.
This one was photographed at Pottsville on the northern NSW coast accompanied by a very peed off Noisy Friarbird. The Friarbird was relentless, but the kite was not bothered one little bit.
Specific Feedback
The images were shot later than I would normally shoot. I never liked the harshness of the images.

Cool interaction, Glennie. It’s interesting how the smaller birds harass the larger, even if the larger never preys on the smaller. I think you did an excellent job taming the harsh light, though the wings and body of the kite look a bit washed out and you might think about bumping the contrast in the darker parts of the bird.

Excellent capture of the interaction, Glenys. I think the second one gives the best look at both birds and I like seeing the spread of the tail feathers.
A very beatiful interaction between the birds and the Brahminy is local resident in this part of the world, Thanks for sharing.

Both shots are beautiful, Glenys. Both have a water painting pastel look that works well with the soft lifting sea clouds. Wonderful look at the birds their feathers and colors. Nice captures.

looked at the underparts of the kite and definately agree that a bit of contrast wouldn’t go astray. Although, I wouldn’t like to lose the pretty salmon pinks of the underwing.
I too agree about the contrast, Have a few of these birds in my archive, let me check and post on of these days.
