Description
On my regular morning tour I spotted these little intimate scenes in our cactus pot. There are wisteria and oleander plants nearby and some of the petals and leaf debris fell in the mix. The cacti themselves are getting crowded and we may have to move them to a larger pot which is no small trick. The lone freeze we had also seems to have affected them some but there are new buds everywhere so I’m hopeful we will have a good flower crop later in the spring. >=))>

Bill, all three images are a treat for me to view. I especially love the wisteria petal with the thorn impelled through it. I can image having to transfer these little guys to a larger pot. A good pair of gloves are a must!
Bill, all three look great and tell different stories. I do like the faded wisteria as a counterpoint to all the points on the cacti. My initial reaction to #3 was, OUCH! Your dof choices all work well.
Bill, wonderful stuff here. Makes me feel at home, not potted items, but in the field cacti… The images are all photographed to perfection, however, my personal preference is the first one being the best of the group…
Really nice. I think you nailed the focus stack/dof. No suggestions there. I love the crowded house effect of the first one, and the third, “Pierced,” is wonderfully symbolic. It’s a cycle of life kind of thing there.
The last one is my favorite eith the spine protruding through the dried flower petals. The subdued greens show the results of your harsh winter. Textures are excellent and I like these as presented…Jim
Your composition on that first image had to be challenging but you nailed it. It is well balanced and thought out. I don’t feel like anything needs to be cloned or cropped out. Even though that curling leaf along the right edge grabs my attention I think it fits well in this scene. The colors are just right and not overdone. I really love that first image, Bill. The other two are less pleasing visually but they both tell a story which I think is the point…no pun intended. Very creative for all three and a good use of your imagination to see these. Depth of field in all of them look great to my eye.
