Cholla skeletons have really interesting textures and detail. Some species are more intricate than others and could be good for more abstract images. I might make a project of this and see where it takes me.

Eric, this cactus skeleton has very interesting textures, with its mix of large and small holes. You’ve placed the big holes well in the frame. It looks like a few of the brightest areas may be too bright and the soft and bright area near the top middle is an eye catcher. Getting everything in the frame sharp would make this an excellent abstract.
Wonderful find very well presented! The project idea is great – hope we get to see a followup on it!
This could be a microscope (or even electron microscope) view of something very tiny – the structure of bone or even cell walls.
