Recently I had good success with my B&W’s, so I decided to process some more images…what do you think about this image.

This is a really nice clean, and well detailed image Jagdeep. You have a nice composition with plenty of room in front of the elephant to hurry to catch up with the herd. I think it would work just as well if you gave it a bit more room all the way around, but this does impress the huge size of the animal upon us.

What a magnificent old bull! The tusks and ragged ear are quite amazing. Is that musth on it’s face, or a big scar? I didn’t realize the facial bone structure on the Indian elephants is so different than that of the African elephants.

You’re right Sandy, that’s musth on his face.

I have to agree with the others Jagdeep, this is a strong image. The B&W treatment works well and gives him a more imposing appearance. The raised foot indicates motion, and the position of the trunk indicates that he means business. The image conveys strength and determination and the ragged ear suggests that he is not afraid to mix it up. It also suggests that he is used to getting his own way. Well done!
