Description

This was from another fishing trip last year. There are tens of thousands of bottlenose dolphin that call the Channel Islands off of Ventura and Santa Barbara home. They gather in pods of five to ten thousand sometimes and it is an impressive sight. They also like to escort boats and play in the wake behind.

Hi Ed, well they do the same thing in Florida, escorting tour boats out of a harbor. Nice action shot you have here, with the foaming water of the boat wake and the dolphins gliding along near the surface, with a fin showing. Looks like you had some overcast skies, which is always good with water in the composition, so the exposure seems to be pretty good too.
