About This Image
Before i discovered the Lowe’s Water Gardens one of my favorite water lily haunts was the Mercer Arboretum. On one of my forays there I spotted this little silver dollar size turtle resting on a lily pad. He seemed pretty content and was happy to let me get close enough for a decent shot. I just wanted to reach out and pinch his cute little cheeks but thought better of it. Didn’t want to disturb his reverie. >=))>

Little chance encounters like this always delight me. It’s a simple scene so do you find it interesting enough to keep your interest or just a casual glance?

You thought better of your cute little pincher fingers! Bill, this is excellent and the high viewpoint suggests that you could add some canvas to the left to get a completion of the water pool. For me, that would make the composition even better, but it might involve some laborious structuring of the edge of the pool. I’d also remove the dark crescent on the lower right vertical edge. Then, as Diane says, it’s 11/10!
Bill, the details in the turtle are excellent. I also like what it’s “looking at”, as that balances the turtle well. This is great as presented. Pretty amazing that the turtle is so tiny.
Bill, I do find it interesting, Bill. With him that small, I think you would have had a little trouble pinching his cheeks! He is kind of cute, and I love the different shades of greens. Nice find and capture.
This one is very nice as presented. The diagonal of the water connects everything together. The texture of the shell is nicely rendered. Awesome image!!!..Jim
Love this image, how often do you get to see little critter like this close up. The texture in the turtle is really sharp and the lily pad is the perfect backdrop.
