Drinktime

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

We have many Grey Squirrels who hang out around and under our bird feeders. They regularly stop and get drinks from my water feature. I’ve even had them eat the waterlily leaves (aaarrrggghhh!!!) that are within reach from the pond edge.

This one came to get a drink less than 5 feet from where I was sitting in my blind hoping to photograph birds getting drinks or bathing.

Specific Feedback

She (I think I see a nipple…) was at a strong angle, so there was no way to get her whole body sharp. I do like the sharpness of her whiskers and (of course) the textures in the flowing water.

Technical Details

R5, 100-500 @ 500, 1/320 s, f/13, iso 1600, tripod.

It’s always fun when something gets close like that, Mark. You took excellent advantage of the opportunity.

Mark, a neat angle of view here on this little critter tanking up on refreshments… :star_struck:
Although my brother lives in an area that has MNAY grey tree squirrels, we are loaded with the brown ground squirrels all around us. Can’t say for sure if the grey cause any damage per se, but our ground dwellers are natural coring critters a plenty…
