Factory Butte Sunrise

This image was taken on September 18th while on a Utah photography trip. I was disciplined enough to get up for sunrise at Factory Butte and fell in love with the amazing textures and shapes that this location provides. Although it was not a terribly interesting sunrise for the sky the warm light off of the butte itself made up for it!

I tried not to overedit this, focusing on the contrast between the highlight and shadow areas and keeping the warm red glow that I saw when I was there.

Take on Sony A7RV with Sigma 100-400: f 5.6, 1/20 sec, iso 120 @ 100 mm

My Edit

for grins I made a recording of the correction producing this… if you have questions, please ask… this image is not sharpened nor has there been any selection and local adjustment made. It is a very different interpretation of the scene as I went for graphic shapes and colors. If Ryan wants to experiment with blending the color or luminosity back into his correction, that would be fun.
