Fallen Bougainvillea

I saw this fallen, drying blossom in San Miguel de Allende in 2009. It called out to me as I casually walked by, and I managed to capture it.

Specific Feedback and Self-Critique

It has been one of my favorites ever since, largely for the colors, which I have kept a true as I could.

The raw file was updated to the newest process in LR but I didn’t do any significant adjustments to change the original appearance. In PS I did a little cloning of some brighter spots in the BG.

I can certainly see why it is one of your favourites. That you got to take it in San Miguel doesn’t hurt one bit either. The colours are gorgeous and combined with the blossom’s form, all evocative shape and shadow (reminiscent of Weston’s peppers), this makes for a feast for the eye.
