Shooting in IR is a wonderful exploration. I love the way the clump of grass stands out in the forest, with the hints of light beyond the trees. One frustration I have with IR is that leaves in the shade come out tonally flat, but you have enough other detail that it isn’t an issue for me here. The “flat” leaves stand out against darker areas. I would touch out or crop the two bright spots at the bottom border.

I’m not sure what conversion you have, though. LifePixel has a range of IR filters and Full Spectrum and Deep IR are at opposite ends of the range of spectral transmission.

The camera is full spectrum and I used a deep infrared filter on the lens. I decided to go this way since I didn’t want to restrict my camera to one bandwidth.

Thanks for the rest of the feedback, post processing is my greatest weakness. I tend to adjust the whites and blacks, run it through denoise and be done with it. I used to love my time in the darkroom so now I have to transfer that to the computer.

Thanks for the clarification – I haven’t used the full spectrum conversion (I have the Super Color) and do think I remember now about using the lens filter in addition. I’m an old darkroom escapee and urge you to explore the new world of processing – it is at least 100x better!!! And no need to be seduced by all the latest trickery and gimmickry – a basic raw converter (Lightroom is my choice) and Photoshop with masked curves adjustments will get you 95% of the possibilities.
