Gentle Slopes

The way the light hits those gentle slopes invokes feelings of calmness and serenity. This stands in stark contract to the conditions I took this image in. There was a brisk wind blowing in my face and the sun was highlighting different parts of the scene, like a searchlight in the dark. I’m just amazed how one frame can convey a totally different mood to the viewer, than to the photographer, who knows the story behind the scene.

Hi Martin, words like stark and lonely occurred to me when I first viewed this so you’ve definitely created a mood :grinning: I like the downward sweep of the horizon line and how the shadow points to the trees. Nicely seen and captured.

A feeling of loneliness definitely comes to my mind too. Some say it’s always lonely at the top :joy: Thank you for the kind feedback :+1:

Martin, the big “V” of shadow does a fine job pointing to the trees. I like the quiet, contemplative mood.
