About This Image

This is 2 photos, both highly processed and layered in Photo Shop. I’ve worked on it all morning trying to keep my mind busy today.

Feedback Requested

I like the process of abstracting images, I’m sure it’s not to everyones taste but I like the end result of this one.

Technical Details

One image was taken at Klamath Bird Refuge and the other is an ICM that I took last Spring in my garden.

A visually arresting and beautiful treatment Alice, like an ice storm had passed, especially with those wintery colors. I’m going to dig out some backlit tree shots and see what kinds of abstracts may be hiding within! If that’s a reflection in lower right I can understand why you included it, but it is so fuzzy that I can’t appreciate it as a reflection. I think cropping at the bottom to emphasize the trunk would support the image as a tree and give it some scale.

Ghostly it is, no doubt! It is an image that attracted my attention immediately… I like it, reminds me of some of the scenes of Twin Peaks (season 1), a series I much loved… Maybe, maybe, the only think is that I find the tree crown a bit flat, perhaps it would be even better with some nuanced light-dark variability… Excellent idea and realization, in any case!

Hi Alice,

What a striking image. I like how luminous it is, and the reflections give us a hint of realism that can’t quite be real. I’m curious about the crop. For some reason, I feel like the tree should be centered or more off-center than here, but I can’t really say why I feel that way. I hope you get more feedback on this one. It’s special.
