This image of a juvenile Little Blue Heron was taken at a state park on the gulf coast of Texas during golden hour. I didn’t notice the alligator in the lower right of the image at the time I too this image, but there are a lot of them at this park, so I’m not too surprised that it was there. It is amazing how they co-exist with the other wildlife in the area. Birds seem to sense the gator’s presence and even allow the gators to get extremely close to them sometimes.
Specific Feedback Requested
I would like to hear suggestions on how to make this image better, i.e. what could I do in the editing to make it better.

Great image
Those gators will snick up on you. I have never had any problems with them.
You could play with the cropping. I do like the BG but find the sun reflection brings my eye away form the bird.
If you like gators I posted some in wildlife.
The gator adds to the story - nice image

This is a great image! I love the golden blurred background, but agree about maybe toning down the bright area. The composition here is wonderful and the bird is incredibly clear and focused. The alligator is icing on the cake!
Thank you @Steve_Rosendahl@Chris_Baird@Dan_Kearl for your feedback! The yellow background in the image has always confused me and when I went back and reprocessed it almost a year later, I assumed it was a golden hour shot. It turns out it was taken around 30 minutes after sunrise, so the background color was a result of reflections in the water and the low angle of the sun. However, it looks like I added too much saturation. I will post a more subdued version of the image that I hope will look a little more natural.
