Afternoon Heron

Taken last Friday at Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge. I wasn’t even aware of this challenge until I got home that afternoon. Just lucky I guess. Dennis Plank and myself spent a mostly quiet and uneventful morning at the refuge. Not a whole lot of interesting subject matter on Friday with dark cloudy skies for the most part. The sun made it through the clouds for this image.

The golden glow of early/late light does a great job of setting off the heron, David. Although the lighting creates a very different look, this view, like Gary’s post, is very soothing to look at.
