Technical Details

I had a real hard time getting the saturation right on this one. From the original image had to cut saturation down by almost 40% For it to look reasonable on the site.

Cool catch of this honeycreeper, David. I love the pose. Interesting that the beak was moving too fast for 1/640th to stop it completely. I don’t know what you did to the banana, if anything in post, but it has a very mellow look. I’ve avoided processing my “bird-on-a-banana” images, because they’re usually very ugly, but this one works nicely.

Great pose and colours. I think you needed a faster SS to catch the feeding action, but - now - a bit of added selective sharpening to the beak area would help.
