Description

The hoopoe nest is in the side of this old tree and I was waiting in a hide for the parents to bring food for the young chicks probably around a week old looking at the size of the food they are bringing. They were bringing food around every 10 minutes

Hi Avi, great catch of this behavior. Critical sharpness right where it needs to be. Love the spread out wing. Impressive bird well photographed.
As far as composition, I could see trying adding some on the left and cropping some from the right and bottom. And for my taste the out of focus brown on the bottom could go all together. Or maybe just a crop from the right and bottom would do the trick. A really fine image either way.

Very nice flight and behavioral shot. I like the wing position as well and the overall detail is great. More of the tree might be good.

Great flight shot and heading for the next cavity adds a lot, Avi. Normally, I like a slightly loose composition, but the out of focus stuff on the bottom and somewhat centered bird would lead me to crop from the bottom and right, something like this:

Wow – what a wonderful pose with fantastic detail on the bird. The DOF covers the bird well and the BG is just gorgeous! I like @Dennis_Plank’s crop, or would clone out the OOF stuff on the bottom. A subtle gradient burn from the bottom would work well here. Excellent catch!!!
