One image sharp with narrow DOF , duplicated x2, and then blurred using lens blur - 3 layer - combined soft light blend layer and masked, /Dodged and Burned until it felt right.
I’m not a flower kind of guy at least photographically speaking.
So I can’t judge this on some criteria, but I will tell you it’s compositionally solid, colors are excellent, and I like the dark background. Hope it’s helpful.
Huw: This is a difficult subject to shoot in my experience so you’ve done really well here. I like the lighting, color palette and your DOF management. A very pleasing image of a challenging subject.>=))>
Such intense color. Really bursts off the screen and the details and textures are quite appealing. I don’t love the darkness of it, but that’s totally subjective…it just feels at odds with the bright freshness of the flowers themselves. Fun experiment though and it’s always interesting to see what you do next.
