Randall, this is a fine collection of colors and textures. The sides look like ashfall from a volcanic eruption that landed hot enough to distort the shapes. The “streak” down the middle is amazingly different from the sides, which leaves me wondering how it got there. There’s quite a geology story here. I wish I better understood what that story is.
Hi Randall. I like this image as it does make me wonder exactly how it formed. I wouldn’t even understand the “interrupted” if I hadn’t been exposed to a little geology through a little 10 minute series on the local PBS stations, since geology wasn’t part of my curriculum (which I’m regretting).
I’m not sure if I’d say it was thought provoking (at least to me) but it’s definitely impactful and really, really cool! I like this very much.
I certainly understand that white balance is a personal, creative, choice but if you were to neutralize it a bit, you’d get a nice separation between the blues and the yellows that I think is quite nice. Just an idea…
