As I’ve shared before, part of my mid-summer routine is to have coffee on the front porch where the Morning glory vines are just an arm’s reach away. In the morning they are back-lite and both flowers and leaves are just waiting to be enjoyed. I find the leaf shapes, in particular, to seemingly “dance” with each other in endless ways.

Similar, but different from your beech leaf shot. The simplicity works so well, but it’s the touch of sharpness in the leaves that really makes this stand out. A little texture, a little detail and we have something to concentrate on for a minute. Complementary colors and the negative space are well used. If it were mine, I’d see if I could bring out the lighter bits of the veins more. Just for fun.
