Well it’s doing it again and with a collection without the sync box checked. I am so frustrated. Gah!
I’m going to continue to experiment even though it’s only for me.

Looks like when a photo is in more than one collection, Photoshop ignores them and only puts the photo back into the folder. As if it can’t make up its mind so just doesn’t do anything instead of putting it into all the collections associated with it. Very odd.
ETA it may actually be Collection Sets that’s the issue. I sent an image to Ps out of the January picks folder which is only in 2 Collection Sets and it returned to the January picks folder. I sent an image out of the February picks folder which is in a 3rd Collection set and it returned only to the folder, not to any collection.
Collection Sets 1, 2, 3 and 4. Just for testing purposes. February Picks Collection is in 4 Sets, Picks copy is in 3. Images go back to Picks copy from Photoshop just fine, but not to the original Picks collection. It’s weird, but that’s what I’ve worked out so far.
