Self Critique
The composition is acceptable to me. This is a standard cropping for me. I feel it works for the scene.
Creative direction
We have always loved “layered” mountain vistas. This one is of our home town and is intended to demonstrate the environment of our area.

Hi Fred,
I have to say that you have quite the view from your hometown; something I do not think I would ever get tired of. The mountains certainly are beautiful as is the light bathing them. I also think the pano format works beautifully and the town adds some wonderful context to the scene. My only suggestion would be to remove those trees along the bottom edge as I find myself wishing to see more of them or none at all. I hope you do not mind, but here is a rework with what I am thinking. Just my opinion of course. This looks like the perfect way to end the day to me. Nicely done!
Thank you for the helpful comments. Yes, we have some rather nice views here. I’m considering whether to remove or crop to eliminate the trees. It took a few years to find this viewpoint and I’m working it as much as possible. Thank you also for the compliment. Since your version is the crop, I’m showing the removal here. I felt the water became too strong after the removal and darkened it a bit.
Nice view, Fred. My first impression was like @Ed_Lowe’s regarding the trees. I think removing them instead of cropping was the wise choice. The sliver of river after cropping was a tad too small imho.
Thank you. I wish we had a river that wide around here. It’s a small lake actually. I agree that a sliver would have been a bit too small. If I had moved the crop down, there would have been structures along the lakeshore in the image as well.
