About This Image
This is a re-processing of my attempt two years ago to capture the target @Dean_Salman posted yesterday, with a much simpler device. This target is very low in the south and in major light pollution for me. And it’s only high enough to get a little over an hour on it, so this is 3 nights combined – as was his. I managed a total of 4 hours on it. And I was never happy with it, due to the problems of light pollution and a low target, so I was interested to re-process it with the newer tools in PixInsight. I don’t remember if I had posted it before, but probably not, as I had never put it on my web site. So it’s just to compare with his SeeStar, which comes out looking surprisingly good. And a lot of the differences in the two images are just from various decisions made in processing.

Technical Details
My normal astro rig – 400mm refractor, SkyWatcher EQM tracker (now have a better one), ASI2600MC Pro camera, ASIAIR on-board computer, PixInsight processing outlined in my replay to Dean’s post. I didn’t bring out as much nebulosity outside the center as I had hoped, largely due to limitations of the light pollution. I should try the filter he used, and/or just get more time on the subject by combining more nights. Could probably push processing more, too.
