Mallard

Description: The mallard was resting in a small pool of water along a path and I was able to get in fairly close with the long lens. It may be a bit tight on top. I cropped to remove the reflected body of the female.

Interesting, with the exposure well handled. Nice that he is looking at you. Might have had a marginally better connection if you were a little lower. Besides, the green blades on the left are a minor distraction - perhaps consider burning these a bit

Superb detail, Allen. An excellent job on the exposure as well. This might make a fine crop to a head shot.

I like the tight crop just fine. The highlights in the eye and the sharpness of the whole head are excellent.

I think this is a very nice crop with superb detail and colors. It looks really good on my larger monitor. Processed well for ISO 2000.
