Migrated Birch Forest

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

This birch forest is located on Amager, near Copenhagen, and it is the largest birch forest in Denmark. Amager is partly a landfill, and the birch forest was established there after the Second World War, allegedly because seeds from birch trees from Sweden had been blown across the sea. Hence, the forest is an example of what one might call ecological migration.

Specific Feedback

I would be curious to now what works for you in this image, and what does not work.

Leo, I like this image in B&W. It shows the damage to the birch forest with the sparse foliage, and the broken pieces of wood and broken trunks throughout. It really looks like a severe storm just tore through the forest and left a wake of destruction. Good depth, good light, and good sky. This is an interesting image to ponder.

Thanks for your comment, @Ed_Williams, I appreciate it.

Devastation! I think this captures it well. No frills, just slam the viewer.
