Seen this past week at the neighborhood lake. These guys usually soar way overhead but occasionally come down to give me a closer look.

A nice look at this Kite, Allen. Is that a Dragonfly in his clutches? I am not familiar with the Mississippi Kite, so not sure what they catch to eat. I like the way he has his eye on you, with a slight head turn, as if trying to decide if you are a threat to his snack he has caught. Great detail in his feathers.
Superb eye contact. Pleasing comp. On close examination of the lighter plumage on the head, I note the level of detail is not as clear as the grey plumage. Yeah, I am being picky. Still a very nice image.

Excellent pose with the upwing and turn towards you. I really like the even lighting and clean background. The dragonfly is a big bonus.
