Description

These Black Swallowtail chrysalises were formed last Sept-Oct time frame. Now as the temp warms up so do they and one by one they keep popping open and off they go. So far I have released 6, 1 today.

John: Nice work on protecting these. We keep parsley in our garden but the swallowtails don’t often find it. We did have an enclosure for monarchs many years ago but it eventually succumbed to the elements and now we let nature take its course. Good on you and your efforts. >=))>

Thanks Bill, I released 2 more swallowtails today. I grow milkweed (just started) for the monarchs, but it will be a while before I see them.
This all gives me something to do as well as something to take pictures of. :slightly_smiling_face:

A very interesting series here John and congrats on your efforts “Dad”. I planted some pink swamp milkweed last year so hoping it flowers this year and the Monarchs find it.
