A few weeks ago while on our weekly drive around Central Washington, we discovered a lavender farm. Very high wind with lots of blowing dust, especially as we returned through the Hanford area. This is a combination of wind and ICM.

I see things floating toward a falls.

Jim: Great job taking advantage of the conditions. I like this and just for fun flipped it horizontally to see if the flow direction made a difference. Normally our brains like things that appear to go left to right but this works better for me as is. Perhaps this appears to be swooping down and to the right whereas when flipped the movement just doesn’t seem right. Well seen and very nicely captured and presented. >=))>
Jim, I see the falls near the bottom flowing left to right, with the plunge pool towards the top. The purple water certain seems like something you might “find” near Hanford… Definitely good fun.
Very cool! Great effect and great use of the technique and taking advantage of the "other " movement - the windy subject!
This certainly has the look/feel of water, funneling down to a fall or cascade. There’s also almost like a mechanical impression - ie. say a production line of either food or canned good product getting funneled down a production line… ok, maybe a lame impression… but for sure there is a great flow here.
The only part that catches me are the vertical tips coming out the top in the UL quadrant. I’m guessing the flower tips that got caught in between gusts? But the more I look at it, the more that area just fits in. I think the area in the UR quadrant compliments the scene well too.
The only suggestion I have would be to clone out (or crop?) the darker patch in the ULC. Not a deal killer, just an observation.
@Steve_Kennedy Thank you. I’m not sure I’d want to swim in Hanford water, blue or otherwise. @Lon_Overacker Thank you. The dark ULC patch bothers me a bit, too. I’ll give it a go. Yes, those are flower tips. I used to do a lot of whitewater rafting. We would jump in and free float some rapids. I now see those tips as free floating from upper left to lower right, if that makes any sense.
Definitely good fun.
