Photo projects

Community: can anyone recommend a good resource(s) for planning and executing a nature photography project? I have a couple of ideas in mind, and have seen many wonderful projects, but I don’t exactly know how to go about it. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hi Robert! Here is an article on Projects from our Learning section above. I hope it helps!

Thank you, Steve. This is a good start.

Hey Robert, I would also recommend reading our guidelines for our projects category; this has tons of great info from Theo Bosboom.

Also, I would highly recommend subscribing to LensWork if you’re interested in projects. There’s no better resource to see other projects and learn about them through the vast resources that Brooks has produced over the years. If you don’t listen to his podcast, I would get right on that!

@David_Kingham , thanks so much for this link. I recall reading Theo’s original article on projects last winter in OnLandscape, but I just couldn’t recall where it was. This is exactly the guidance I am looking for. At some point I hope to submit a project to NPN for feedback. I also appreciate the LensWork recommendation - certainly a wealth of content there.

I also would recommend this great article from @Theo_Bosboom in OnLandscape - we have a project submission in NLPA and Theo is one of our judges there.

Thanks Matt. That’s the same great article that David mentioned. Glad to see you are thinking alike!
