About This Image
Youth may be admired for vigor, But gray hair gives prestige to age.
We have had this Old Man cactus for a couple of years now and while I’ve shot it occasionally I’ve never come away with anything I really liked. This year it has grown a lot and seems very vigorous so it inspired me to put some effort into a capture or two. >=))>

Shot this with the real camera after playing with the new phone and not being completely satisfied with the focus point chosen by the phone.

It looks like natural light from a close window. I think the depth of field is spot-on. I would give a little more room on the left side of the composition as the “gray hair” seem pushed against the composition.
For what it’s worth, I think mobile device cameras are OK and capable, but I truly enjoy the results from a “real camera”. Before anyone points out that the “best camera” is the one you have on you when you need it, yes agreed.
Bill, very attractive. I agree that a bit more space on the left would be good - and trim that long straight hair in the ULC, as you’d trim your beard. The annoying perfectionist in me is saying remove the small brown blob in the URC too. But overall, it’s a fine tribute to premature greying!
