I’m dipping my toe into printing calendars and wanted one with NO spiral because of the waste and unrecyclable nature of the spiral material. I just want a fold-over, saddle-stitched or stapled set up. I am also intimidated by needing to create my own calendar template and submitting it as a pdf. I wish I could just upload my images into a calendar template and have it printed without the spiral. But a couple hours of searching the internet has been a struggle! Can anyone here give me any advice on how to proceed? Thanks in advance for your insights!
Almost every year I make a 40x60cm calendar (approx. 16"x24"), WITH spiral. I appreciate your attitude w.r.t. the recycling, but I don’t really sea the problem of the spiral. It’s made of metal, steel, and at the end of the year I simply pull out the spiral with a pair of pliers and I recycle the metal and the paper separately in the usual way.
I order my calendar at WhiteWall in Germany (I live in the Netherlands), they have a number of different templates, formats, sizes and papers. So there is no need to create your own, and save it as a pdf file. I had a quick look at their US website, but couldn’t find any calendars. Probably not available in the USA. But there will be many others that offer similar products, I suppose.
Here’s at least one source, Ann. The trick seems to be searching for “saddle stitched” .
Thank you, Dennis - this is what I was looking for. Do you have any recommendations on where to find a template to build the file? Thanks!
I’m afraid not. I haven’t made one, I just did a search and finally figured out what they call that style. Most of them should have the calendar itself canned so all you have to do is supply the images, I’d think.
Thanks, Dennis. It seems that most places require one to upload a pdf of the calendar. And I can’t easily find a calendar template to use. I’m surprised this is all so hard!
Hi Ann: I used this program (version 15) and found it pretty simple. Maybe useful for you:
