This tree reminded me a Japanese Bonsai Tree. I used a low angle to to have the sky as a background. This is the Pink Lakes NP in the Mallee. A semi arid harsh environment.
Should I clone the trees on the left and the weeds on the right. Overall does the composition work.

The tree definitely looks like a bonsai tree! And I like it! I like the center placement of the tree as it has so much character, my eye stays focused on the tree! The luminosity and color look good and work with the scene. I would consider adding some cyan +blue via PS using a color balance adjustment layer, only in the grass and weeds, as it is a little yellow down there, and it would give you some more color separation.
Yes…would most definitely clone the weeds on the right! They are adding nothing to the scene, and we don’t want our eye to detract from that cool bonsai tree! Cut the weeds! 
That lawn needs to be manicured!
