About This Image
Just a little something for Halloween. As a landscape goes, there is a lot that could be improved and I look forward to hearing all the advice you can give me.

I’d like to know how you guys handle shooting in flat light, like this. Post processing tips?
This is a fun Halloween image, Nancy. That pelvis really dominates the frame and the sockets do give the impression of eyes.
While I’m not normally a landscape photographer, as a landscape, I think there’s a bit too much going on in the foreground with all kinds of stuff from the bone to the lichen covered rocks to some very interesting pieces of grass and dead flowers and all the foreground bushes. My eye had a difficult time getting into the distance with all that delicious fog and scattered trees. It’s nice to have some kind of foreground “anchor” to give the viewer a starting point, but it can’t be so dominant that it’s difficult to leave and it is nice if it can be tied to a leading line of some kind to guide the viewer into the rest of the scene.
This looks like a glorious place and I could see spending a day within a few feet of where you took this photographing different aspects from macro to grand scenery., particularly with that fog to tame the light.
I’m very familiar with these bones. If I’m not mistaken that’s part of its thigh. Here in my part of the world a pack of coyotes will bring one down. I thought the image was right heavy and the easy way around this is a crop. But perhaps you can dodge some information out of that dark area. I like the colors. I suppose you could mistake this for a mask.
