These sporophytes are growing next to the waterfall in my pond. They catch the morning sun very nicely. A 25 shot stack for dof. (R5, 180mm macro, 1/25 s, f/14, iso 800, tripod and 2 s timer)
Amazing, Mark. Looks like a miniature underwater sea world. the detail is exquisite. I am curious, approximately how tall are the sporophytes?
Linda, they’re in the 1/2 to 3/4 inch (1 - 1.5 cm) range. This view is approaching life size.
In other words, really small! Thanks Mark.
This does look like either an underwater scene or an alien forest, Mark! The lighting is great and really makes it dramatic. It’s always fun looking at the miniature part of nature. It can be so different from the large versions!
Beautiful look into a miniature world!! An intriguing mix of reddish browns and warm yellow-greens.
Nice scene. These are SO hard to deal with most of the time. Messy, tangled, fraught with debris. Did you do a lot of clean up here? Stack looks excellent.
