Hi Sandy, love seeing this pair. Wonder what the story is - are they chasing each other, or perhaps a mated pair? Nice to get a double either way. F13 worked nicely in this photo - fine DOF to get both birds sharp. Intriguing poses on each bird too.

Another “Wow” image. The detail, handling of the blacks, and poses are all great. Nice to get both in such excellent focus.

Hi, Allen - any bird with a fish gets chased and harrassed, , so I think that is what is going on here. There were lots of interactions, so more shots coming eventually.

This is such a great image Sandy. These sea eagles are such stunning birds, and with one being further away and appearing smaller than the other it adds depth to the photo. The wing position of each bird really caught my eye, as each bird has the opposite wing extended the same way. My one question is whether the smaller appearing eagle is an juvenile or the same size as the other one and just looks smaller because it is slightly in the distance? Excellent capture.

I love the main character with the fish in this image, Sandy, but for me the second eagle in the back isn’t adding anything to the image and it looks a little strange with what seems to be a piece of ice/snow in its talons. I’d be very tempted to crop, and if needed clone, to make this all about the foreground bird.

Excellent image Sandy.

I echo what @Dennis_Plank mentioned. The hero is the bird in the front. I’m sure you could make another version of this quite easily without the background bird and a bit of extended canvas down the right.

I like the second bird chasing the first for its fish - makes a cool story. The left-hand one is in full adult plumage also. You caught the cartoonish eye-bill combo perfectly. Am I jealous? Yes. Would I brave the cold conditions of Hokkaido? Hmmm.

Mike, it was devilishly cold, with a fierce wind most of the time. I was saved by heated : gloves, thermals, hat, snow jacket, socks , neck warmer and face mask. The others absolutely FROZE. Coming back with images like these was worth it.

Sandy: this is a great action shot and f/13 rendered both birds in sharp focus. Kudos on the EP.
