You’re probably going to get 20 differing opinions about where to crop because it’s all subjective. I like the picture as presented because I feel like I’m standing at the bottom, looking up into the scene. If I was going to crop anywhere, it would be somewhat 1x1, I would get rid of the white area in the URC.
While I do like the original image, I find the dark foreground distracts somewhat from the livelier color and details of the upper portion. I think the crop @Michael_Lowe posted does the trick.

I am going the opposite way and say a crop is most definitely not needed. What I like about the photo is that it gives the impression of moving from darkness into light. The darker FG while heavy is countered by the vibrant and lively well lit stone and green trees at the top. I think it has a spiritual essence to it as well as darkness, in all its forms, weighs heavy on everything and brings things down, while light uplifts and causes everything to rise up. But your photo does not keep the viewer down since even in the darkness light can penetrate and show the way out, evidenced by the lit tops of the stones acting as steps to reach the light. Its a great photo.
