Self Critique
This is a backlit image with background slightly darkened. Background looks a little patchy, but this is the best I could get without doing extensive work.
Creative direction
Looking for what is. The wabi-sabi aspect of imperfections, impermanence of colors and and variable colors drew my attention

Ravi - a really nice look at this leaf. The black BG is perfect. The spots on the leaves are reality, no need to change. The bit of web is icing on this nice cake.
Well-seen and composed!
Quite striking. I really like the shape of the leaves and the gradation of color. Backlit leaves are catnip for me, too. This is a great example showing all of that detail and lighting up the changing colors. That bit of spider silk is a nice touch, too, and I’m glad you didn’t clone it out. The dark background is a bit mottled and maybe could be darkened further using masking to keep the leaves bright. Excellent detail without looking crunchy.
Thanks for all your comments. I hadn’t posted anything in the past couple of years, so things have changed here. I would like to post the version with darkened background. How do I do that?
At the bottom of your post, click the pencil to edit the post. You are then taken to the edit mode of your entry. If you want the edited image to appear first, I suggest placing the cursor at the top before the original image. Otherwise, go to the line after the original image and upload the new image. Since you are in edit mode, you can add new text before/after the images to ensure viewers know the original and edited versions. You can also edit the post’s title and add something to indicate a reworked or newly edited image. For example, some people add (+ rework) after the post title. I hope this helps.
