Is the term and concept of expanse your own or used elsewhere? If the latter could you please provide a reference to more on this subject. The reason I ask is because I’m not getting a clear understanding of what ‘expanse’ really is. Thank you.
Hey Igor - “the expanse” is not a term or concept I’ve seen used elsewhere, but it’s similar to the Buddhist idea of non-dualism which posits that there is no separation between the experience and the one having the experience. This viewpoint questions the boundaries conventionally imposed between self and other, self and and world, and other similarly unquestioned conventions that shape our perception of reality.
In the article I tried to make the case that the internal and external landscapes are intertwined in such a way as to be almost the same thing: the expanse, which includes the internal and external landscape as one open field of experience.
