Wonderful moment in time… it took opening up the large view to confirm there was indeed a lion taking shelter in the shade - hence your title.
Great story telling here especially with the other wildlife (gazelle type animals?) very near by. I’m guessing the lioness had her fill already and was taking advantage of the shade and resting.
Not must to suggest for improvement. Looks like the conditions were pretty hazy and of course not much to be done about that. And I’m not sure if this is even necessary because this is a story-telling image… but wondering if the small tree on the right edge is needed. I like the side to side symmetry with the trees in the background. The one on the right I don’t think is needed. But that’s being pretty picky.
