About This Image
This is a photo from the Everglades, which is one of the most diverse aquatic environments in the world. I was watching this turtle as it was swimming around and checking out the lily pads. Eventually it settled on one with this brilliant yellow flower, so it decided to take a bite.

Cropped and processed entirely in LR. I used the adjustment brush to lighten the turtle and flower, while darkening and reducing some specular highlights on the periphery of the frame.
This is really lovely.! I like seeing behaviour I have never seen before. Is this their normal tucker? I also like seeing his little serated jawline and the suggestion of his shell under the water. The lily pads and water look almost metalic.
My only suggestion would be to tone down the yellow flower…just a tad.
Ted: Great catch and reward for careful observation. I agree with @Glenys_Passier regarding the yellow in the flower which does appear to be blown in some spots. I’m wondering if you used a polarizer. It’s good as is but I also wonder if you would get more detail in the shell with a polarizer. However, that said, the lack of other reflections indicates that you may have used a polarizer and this is all the shell that will show. Regardless this is a really fine capture of a special moment.>=))>
