We were in the southern Kalahari on a game drive when our guide noticed something on the far horizon. We approached in our vehicle and were delighted and surprised to see this Aardvark rooting around. It was very cool to watch him trundle about for a bit before he disappeared into the heavy brush.

We don’t see these every day - so excellent. And of course it reminds me of the Pink Panther cartoons of my youth. A lower POV might have been nice, but if you were in a Jeep, this is as good as you could get. I like the movement implied and the forward motion. Just look at those claws! Purpose built for sure. I also like the limited color palette that shows how much they will blend in and disappear.

Fantastic sighting. Daytime sightings are few and far between, and you made the most of it, given the circumstances. I think the composition here is spot on given the angle of the subject. Beautiful animal too, with those dark markings. We just had a couple of nighttime sightings a few weeks ago, but both times the animal was quite shy. It’s a treat getting one that doesn’t mind the vehicle.
