| Wish I had a more clearer image, yet I felt I will share this, was amazed to see how these tiny creatures working their way out of a problem… |
Very nice to see how the ants form a living bridge. A single ant would not be able to cross this gap. Good to see an image of coordinated collective animal behaviour.
Nishand, this is a good look at the ant bridge. The slow shutter is nice because it blurs the moving ants, which helps describe what the group is doing. Getting in closer, so that the bright parts along the edges aren’t seen or could be cropped out would be a nice improvement.
Thank you very much Mr. Igor for you encouraging words.

Nishand, I will echo Mark’s comments. Here are some basic questions that I find helpful:
- What is the subject and story?
- How can I make the story strong and visually impactful?
- What in the image takes away or distracts from the story?
- How do I minimize the things which distract from and obscures the story?
Everything you do from the shutter click to the post processing should attempt to answer those questions. If you can’t, there is always the delete button.
I’ve attached a reworked copy of your image to demonstrate my take on the (partial) answer to the questions. I’m sure there are other ways to answer. Mostly I cropped and denoised.
Nishand: Really interesting behavior for sure. I like Phil’s rework although I do wish there was a bit more room on the left. Eliminating the bright bands makes this stronger IMO. >=))>
Thank you Mr .Phil, will try to work on the questions that you have asked while taking picture. Also grateful that you took time to work on my image, wonderful outcome it is.

Sorry I’m so late to respond to this, Nishand. You found an excellent subject and recognized it as such, which is the real beginning of photography. I saw some excellent observations in the previous comments. I’d just add that with this weird lighting, you might have been able to get an improvement by popping up your built in flash and using some fill flash to lower the contrast in the scene.
Thank you very much for your valuable comments, Mr. Dennis. grateful for your kind words.
