About This Image

Just finished a wonderful few days in Yosemite organized by Lon Overacker. This afternoon was my last day there and I decided to hike up to Vernal Falls. There’s been some rain so the waterfalls are active although nowhere close to spring volumes. I’d been to Yosemite twice before, in April of 2001 and October of 2008. Both times I did the hike to Vernal Falls so I thought I would give it a go. I thought I remembered having a clear view of the falls from the bridge over the Merced about .8 miles up the trail. When I got there after barely beating a couple of snails up the trail I recalled that one can see the falls from the bridge but only a portion of them and they’re pretty small. Well I was there and even though the full light on the falls I saw from the bridge was fading I decided that I’d gone this far so why not go all the way. Sometimes I think I get stupider as I get older. That last section was a sea level lung and leg buster! The snails won that part of the trek. But I had plenty of light to get some interesting extracts from the falls and was surprised to see this sly devil peeking out.>=))>

How about the rocks in the LRC? I think they’re of a sufficient size to fit into the scene and they don’t pull my eye. Your thoughts? Any suggestions for improvement most welcome.
