Victims of our own success

With a wet/snowy winter predicted for our area, we decided to keep putting out mealworms for the Western Bluebirds. This was the peak of yesterday evening’s congregation. We’re not sure, but we think there were a couple more that came in at the end after the worms were gone and most of the others had left to go use the bird baths.

7DII, sigma 150-600 C @ 293 mm, tripod with ball head and Sidekick mount, f/16, 1/400, iso 1000, manual exposure. Processed in LR & PS CC. Straightened and cropped to 4956x2950. Taken yesterday at 5:17 pm.

Very nice light-brings out the color and detail well. Nice to have these pretty birds in one’s yard.
