A really nice photo. Lovely pose and focus and exposure look spot on.
I am not sure if this is cropped but my preference might be a bit more room all around.
And that little bg stick by the Jay’s left foot could be removed. Personal choice.

A very dynamic pose, Dave. Beautiful colors and I love the eye contact. I’d be tempted to remove the out of focus twig on the bottom.

I wrestled with whether or not to remove that out of focus stick at the bottom and decided to leave it in to give a little weight to the wide open lower background. I was afraid it would make the background too top heavy if I eliminated it. I’m starting to rethink this. Thanks guys for your input!
