Description

I got this shot of a male nuttall’s woodpecker out back on a dark/sleety/rainy cold morning (from the comfort of my garage). He was riding it out on the trunk of a large oak tree. He would occasionally shake off rain like a dog. I felt kinda bad for him.

I think this crop works as well as any other is likely to, Dave, though you could try a little less on the right and a bit more on the left if you haven’t already. You might try bringing up the shadows/blacks just a little bit as the blacks aren’t showing any detail at all. I like dense blacks, but it’s nice if the marginal ones at least have a hint o f detail.
