James, this is quite a stare and it shows well in B&W. I do think that letting his ears show better would help identify this as a wolf. That statement assumes that you’ve done the darkening around the edges to emphasize his face.

Very cool portrait. I think this would be a fine subject to do a “scratchboard” from it. Well done.

Good portrait shot. However, outside of the face the photo seems flat. Did you brighten the face and/or tone down the fur behind the face?
